I am a local from Seymour, TN. There is no way I will ever dart in the doors of Greenbrier Restaurant again. A group of friends and I went to this restaurant for New Year's Eve. The service was bad and the food was just average. My prime rib was tough and so was my wife's steak. We kept having to ask and re-ask our waitress for beverage refills. $30/person should qualify you for great service. Groups of 6 or more have the tip automatically added to your bill so our waitress made approximately $40 that she did not deserve. All 7 of my party left knowing we would never go back. If you want a fine dining experience in Gatlinburg do yourself a favor and go to the Peddler instead of this tourist trap.‎

Pros: Nice Atmosphere

Cons: Bad Service, Below Average Food for the Price

A must

This is your we have to eat somewhere nice while we're on vacation place. It's a little bit up the side of the mountain, out of the vacation strip area and all of the lights of town. The bar area is out of the way of the diners, so you don't have that atmosphere either. It's a lovely building that overlooks a peaceful wooded area and it's just the perfect way to get away from the touristy things that are offered in the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge area and relax to a perfectly prepared meal.

My wife and I got married in Gatlinburg, and we go back every year for our anniversary. A couple of years ago, we were looking through the visitors' guide and found the Greenbrier Restaurant. The description sounded appealing, so we decided to try it. The restaurant is a timber-frame building at the top of a very steep and twisty Gatlinburg street that would be easy to miss off of US 321. It's rustic inside, very relaxed, and rather romantic. There is a wonderful view of the wooded hillside sloping down toward the highway. The menu reflects the location and ambiance; it's a bit upscale, but not quite gourmet. The food is fresh and very well prepared. I've had the pork tenderloin with apple and walnut dressing and a rib eye with the expected sides for steak. The service is unobtrusive but attentive, and you're left feeling that your business is appreciated. Highly recommended.
